Magnitude 8.8 Earthquake Just Devastated Chile at 3:34 am

MAGNITUDE 8.8 JUST HIT CHILE TSUNAMI WARNING: Hotline for those seeking their loved ones – the hotline is 1888 407 4747.
ECUADOR, ARGENTINA, PERU, COLUMBIA, PANAMA AND COSTA RICA. NO ELEC IN SANTIAGO & CONCEPTION. It hit at 3:34 am there. This earthquake was 64% stronger than what devastated Haiti (7.0 magnitude). It is still night time there – chaos and panic. After shocks: numerous and to be expected for the next coming weeks. Some are 6.2, 6.0, 6.1 aftershocks – largest aftershock so far is 6.9. CNN’s Latin affair editor was knocked out of his bed from the shaking.
It is still dark out in Chile, but they are able to determine that buildings, high rises al collapsed to rubble. It is noted that the most recently built buildings are the ones that are most demolished. The tsunami warnings have extended now from Latin and South America to Russian, Australia, Japan, Philippines and Hawaii as well.
Honolulu Hawaii is having emergency evacuation sirens going off at 6 am. They are told in Hawaii to use telephones sparingly. They are expecting a tsunami wave to hit the Hawaiian coastline at 11ish am. It is all encompassing based on the ocean floors topiagraphy. They are expecting 10 – 15 ft waves in Hilo Bay.
The entire Pacific Basin is now under warning: 53 nations under alert for possibility of tsunami warnings. (CNN)

Oddly enough – Here in Japan, this am, there was a magnitude 7.3 that hit Okinawa. Myself being 1000 miles away from Okinawa and in Tokyo – felt nothing.
